Home Depot or equivalent to acquire cement board and sand:

If you do not want to build a LiPo bunker and you have the funds for a flammable yellow safety box, we would suggest going this route for optimal safety.

WHAT CAN HAPPEN TO A MISTREATED LIPO AND HOW TO BUILD A BUNKER?

TEACHER NOTE: The following lesson is designed to teach the students the LiPo Battery and its use in the curriculum aircraft.


  • Afterwards, discuss with the students the importance of LiPo safety, especially creating a safe charging and storing environment for batteries.
  • Create a LiPo bunker.
  • Review how to charge the batteries and how to store the batteries, and enforce rules and consequences if the bunker is not maintained.
  • Having a well-functioning battery storing and charging system in place can make or break the program.
